The short answer

AGTEK states a starting price in an article rather than on a pricing page. “How Much Does an AGTEK System Cost?”, last modified on 9 September 2025 according to AGTEK’s own sitemap and read on 1 October 2026, says a shared key that can be used among multiple users, with training and support, starts around $650 per month for a one-year subscription. The price rises with system capacity and the modules required; 3-year terms and short-term overflow licenses are offered without a price, and the article puts the range at a few thousand to tens of thousands of dollars. Training bought on its own is $1100 per day, per person for the three-day class in Atlanta or Livermore, and $595 per day or per course online. AGTEK offers a demo; no free trial was found.

Other sites print figures that AGTEK’s pages do not: Software Advice and Capterra repeat the $650 as a price per user, and a competitor’s blog and a comparison site print $20,000. On those two directories every review read was invited or referred by AGTEK; reviewers praise the accuracy of its quantities and its support, and name price as the main drawback, followed by crashes with large files and weak printing. Nobody at Calcumetryx has used AGTEK: this page is research, and the lines below say what it rests on.

As printed on the vendor’s page, read 1 October 2026. Not converted, not rounded.

The vendor states that a shared key used among multiple users, with training and support, starts around $650 per month on a one-year subscription, and that the price rises with system capacity and modules. It has no pricing page, and offers a customised quote.

The vendor also describes 3-year terms for added savings and short-term overflow licenses for peak seasons. The price rises with system capacity and with the modules chosen, and some solutions need specific hardware. The starting figure includes training and support; the article adds that training “can be bundled with your subscription or purchased separately”. Its own summary of the range is “a few thousand to tens of thousands of dollars”.

AGTEK’s Software Maintenance Support Agreement says “Software Maintenance Support charges are annual in advance.”, sets the coverage period at “twelve (12) months unless otherwise designated in the Quote(s)”, and says “AGTEK reserves the right to increase Software Maintenance Support prices at any time at its sole discretion, which shall, if applicable, take effect for the renewal Coverage Period.” Coverage that lapses is reinstated for a fee of “twenty-five percent (25%) of the past due Software Maintenance Support charges”. Installation, training and data, among other services, are “outside the scope of this agreement and may be available under separate agreement at an additional charge”. The agreement prints no maintenance price.

  1. 1.Pages read on agtek.com, none of which mentions a trial or a free version: the home page, the cost article, Contact, About Us, Services & Support, Training Overview, Product Downloads, Hardware Requirements, Education programs, the Gradework product page and the software license agreement (EULA).
  2. 2.agtek.com’s own site search for “trial” (10 results), “free” (7) and “evaluation” (4), every result opened: none offers a trial, an evaluation copy or a free version. The “free” results are a free event, a webinar’s free admission and warranty wording in the maintenance agreement.
  3. 3.agtek.com/llms.txt: no such file (HTTP 404).
  4. 4.A web search limited to agtek.com for an AGTEK free trial and for a Gradework trial, evaluation license or free version: the cost article, training, product and education pages came back, none offering a trial.
  5. 5.Pages of AGTEK’s older site that searches still list on other agtek.com hosts (www2, w, ww, support and testweb, with newsletters from 2018 to 2022) did not open: the connection was refused, nothing came back, or the certificate was for another host. A search limited to those hosts found no trial in what it holds of them, and the same old addresses on www.agtek.com now redirect to the current site or return 404.

  • Windows only, and some processors excluded

The Hardware Requirements page lists “Windows 10” as the minimum and “Windows 10, 11” as recommended for Gradework, Materials and Underground, “64 bit”, with “16 GB” of memory minimum and “32 GB” recommended, and an “Intel Core i7 / Core Ultra 7 / AMD Ryzen 7” processor or better. • Graphics, screens and drone data

The same page asks for an Nvidia or AMD card with “1 GB” of video memory at minimum, warns that Intel integrated graphics and some AMD Radeon models may not be compatible, and says “AGTEK does not natively support 4K resolution.” Reveal, the drone-data program, needs “32 GB” of memory at minimum and “64 GB” recommended, and a card from the “Nvidia RTX3060, RTX4060, RTX5050” upward.

Hardware Requirements — AGTEK, read 1 October 2026
Not read, and why
  • The AGTEK Community (agtek.my.site.com), which holds the knowledge base, user manuals, tutorials, webinars and the self-paced lessons, needs the credentials of an AGTEK key, so nothing behind that login was read.
  • The PDFs linked from AGTEK’s public pages were not downloaded: the version notes and manuals on the Product Downloads page, and the IT specification sheet on the Hardware Requirements page, which that page says covers “internet key setup”. Nothing here comes from them.

What users report

Read on 1 October 2026: the first page of AGTEK Gradework reviews on Software Advice (10 reviews, dated November 2025 to February 2026) and the first page on Capterra (25 reviews, dated February and March 2026). Both sites list 53 reviews, and five of those read appear on both under the same title. Every review read carries the site’s own label for a review the vendor invited or referred, so these are users AGTEK asked to write, not a random sample. Reviewers praise the accuracy and detail of the quantities and models, and AGTEK’s support. Price is the drawback raised most often, though a few of those reviewers add that it is worth paying for. The other complaints that recur are crashes and slow work with large files, weak printing and image export, a learning curve for new users, and particular modeling tools that misbehave. These are reviewers’ reports, not findings: nobody at Calcumetryx has used AGTEK, and no site’s star average is repeated here.

Figures other sites print, checked against the vendor

None of these is AGTEK’s price. Each was read on 1 October 2026 and set against AGTEK’s own cost article, which states one figure: a shared key that can be used among multiple users, with training and support, from around $650 per month on a one-year subscription. Two directories repeat the $650 as a price per user, and a competitor’s blog and a comparison site print $20,000, a figure no AGTEK page read contains. None of them cites an AGTEK page for its figure.

What to ask on the demo

Questions the published material leaves open, drawn from the pages above. The answers change the number you will pay or what you will get for it.

  1. Q1How many people can work on one shared key at the same time, and what does each further key cost? The cost article says the key “can be used among multiple users” but gives no number.
  2. Q2Which modules and how much system capacity does the starting figure of around $650 a month cover, and what does each module we need add?
  3. Q3What do the 3-year term and a short-term overflow license cost, and how short can an overflow license be?
  4. Q4Is training in our quote bundled with the subscription, or priced per day or per course as on the training pages ($1100 per day, per person in person; $595 per one-on-one web course)?
  5. Q5Are perpetual licenses still sold? AGTEK’s maintenance agreement provides for software licensed under a perpetual license, with maintenance billed a year in advance: what would the license and its yearly maintenance cost, and what happens to our key if maintenance lapses?
  6. Q6Will our computers run it? The hardware page asks for 64-bit Windows 10 or 11 and 16 GB of memory, rules out Intel Xeon, Celeron, Snapdragon and ARM processors, and says 4K screens are not natively supported; Reveal needs more memory and an Nvidia RTX card.
  7. Q7Is Gradework 1.13, announced as upcoming in March 2026, out yet, and is it included in our subscription? The downloads page still listed 1.12.5.6 on 1 October 2026.
  8. Q8Can we see it run on one of our own plan sets before we buy? No trial was found, but the contact form offers “Demonstrate on my data”.

One InSite page that might describe a trial could not be read: capterrademo.insitesoftware.com, a subdomain of the vendor’s site, failed to open a secure connection (a TLS handshake failure) on both tries on 1 October 2026. The other InSite pages read that day offer live demos and a self-guided tour, and none of them mentions a free trial: the home page, the Demo Request, Watch The Demo, FAQ, Training, Cloud Licensing, Price Sheet and Benefits pages, and the demo landing pages at elevationpro.insitesoftware.com and ironprosdemo.insitesoftware.com. Questions

How much does AGTEK cost?

AGTEK’s own article on cost, read on 1 October 2026, says a shared key that can be used among multiple users, with training and support, starts around $650 per month for a one-year subscription, and that the price rises with system capacity and the modules required. It mentions 3-year terms and short-term overflow licenses without prices, and puts the range at a few thousand to tens of thousands of dollars. For a firm figure, AGTEK gives a customized quote.

How much does an AGTEK license cost?

The only license price AGTEK states is the starting figure for a shared key: around $650 per month on a one-year subscription, with training and support. It prints no price for a module, a further key, a 3-year term, an overflow license or a perpetual license. Its maintenance agreement does provide for software licensed under a perpetual license. A competitor’s blog prints $20,000 for an AGTEK perpetual license; no AGTEK page read contains that figure.

Is there a free trial of AGTEK?

None was found. AGTEK’s pages read on 1 October 2026, its own site search for “trial”, “free” and “evaluation”, and a web search of agtek.com turned up no free trial or free version. AGTEK offers a demo, which its cost article says typically takes about an hour, and its contact form offers a demonstration on your own data. SelectHub says a free trial is available and Capterra says it is not; neither cites AGTEK.

What are AGTEK’s system requirements?

For Gradework, Materials and Underground, AGTEK’s Hardware Requirements page asks for 64-bit Windows 10 at minimum (Windows 10 or 11 recommended), an Intel Core i7, Core Ultra 7 or AMD Ryzen 7 processor, 16 GB of memory (32 GB recommended) and an Nvidia or AMD graphics card with 1 GB of video memory. Intel Xeon and Celeron, Snapdragon and ARM processors are not compatible, and 4K resolution is not natively supported. Reveal, AGTEK’s drone-data program, needs at least 32 GB of memory and an Nvidia RTX card. The page names no operating system other than Windows.

What is AGTEK?

AGTEK makes earthwork and sitework takeoff software. Its About page says it was established in 1981 and became part of Hexagon’s Geosystems Division in 2018, and its contact page places AGTEK Development Co., Inc. in Livermore, California. Its programs include Gradework, Materials, Underground and Highway for takeoff and 3D models that feed machine control, Reveal for drone data, Trackwork for production tracking, and the SmartPlan, SmartDirt and SmartTrack mobile apps.

Who owns AGTEK?

Hexagon. AGTEK’s About page says “In 2018, AGTEK became part of Hexagon’s Geosystems Division.”, and the same page calls AGTEK “a Hexagon company”.

How much is AGTEK training?

AGTEK’s training pages, read on 1 October 2026, print three prices: $1100 per day, per person for the three-day class held in person in Atlanta or Livermore; $595 per day, per person for the online Intermediate/Advanced seminar; and $595 per course, per person for one-on-one web training. The cost article says training can be bundled with the subscription or bought separately, and the self-paced video lessons are in the AGTEK Community, for key holders.

Is AGTEK worth it?

Calcumetryx has not used AGTEK and makes no such judgement. On Software Advice and Capterra, read on 1 October 2026, reviewers praise the accuracy of its quantities and AGTEK’s support, and price is the drawback they raise most often, a few adding that it is worth paying for. Every review read on both sites was labelled as invited or referred by the vendor.
